Do you have a showroom or a retail store?

Diamond Traces does not operate retail locations. This allows us to cut overhead costs and focus exclusively on quality and service - providing you with a high quality product at a much better value than your local jewelry store.

We understand how important it is for our customers to see and feel jewelry - especially a piece of jewelry as personal as an engagement ring. That's why we offer free shipping on all our items and 30-day money back guarantee.

What are your business hours?

Diamond Traces representatives are available at 1-800-343-4133 Monday to Thursday from 9am to 6pm EST and Friday from 9am to 4pm EST. Live chat is available during business hours as well.

How long have you been in business?

We are a second generation company; our parent company has been manufacturing diamonds since 1980 and has built trusting relationships with mine owners, diamond dealers and jewelry designer around the world.

Do you provide an appraisals?

Yes. Every finished engagement ring or piece of fine jewelry valued at $500 or higher will be accompanied by a full personal appraisal.

What your jewelry warranty covers?

Diamond Traces jewelry warranty on your jewelry covers services like cleaning, polishing, prong tightening and rhodium plating -- all for just a small shipping charge. The jewelry warranty also covers the loss of small side diamonds, assuming that the loss was not caused by damage.

However, even with our jewelry warranty, it is important to have your ring insured. Insurance covers both the loss of the entire ring and the loss of the center diamond. We highly recommend Chubb's or Jewelers Mutual.

Can you engrave my ring?

Yes, we'd be happy to personalize your ring with an inscription for FREE. Simply contact a diamond and jewelry consultant at 1-800-343-4133 or info@diamondtraces.com.

Can you laser inscribe my diamond for me?

Sure. We would be happy to inscribe your diamond for you for a small fee of $100. Simply contact a diamond and jewelry consultant at 1-800-343-4133 or info@diamondtraces.com.

I already own a diamond, Can I just purchase the setting and have Diamond Traces set my diamond in it?

Yes. When you check out with just a setting (and not a diamond), you can select an option to have us set your diamond and prepare personal appraisal. This service costs an additional $150.

Please Note: While we will take every precaution to ensure that your diamond is professionally mounted into our ring setting, Diamond Traces cannot be responsible for any damage that may occur to the diamond or to the gemstone during the setting process. Please include with your diamond or gemstone any documentation you might have. If the diamond has been simulants or enhanced in any way should be clearly marked as such when sent to our offices.

 

If I purchase a ring setting and a loose diamond, do I have to pay also to have the diamond set into the ring?

Of course not! In fact, we encourage you to choose your diamond separately - this is what makes your jewelry unique!

What if I have a question about my order, want to change it, or need to cancel it?

What if I need help placing an order?

What if I can't find the diamond I want on your site?

Please call 1-800-343-4133 to speak with a diamond expert and jewelry consultant about a special order diamond.

Can I see an actual picture of the diamond that I’m interesting in?

Yes. Simply contact our diamond expert and jewelry consultants at 1-800-343-4133 or info@diamonftraces.com.

Can I view the diamond I purchased loose before it’s been set in the ring?

Yes. Once you purchase the diamond, we can ship it to you, and you inspect your loose diamond, simply send it back to Diamond Traces create your custom ring for you.

Can you help me keep my jewelry a surprise?

Sure. Since jewelry is often given for an engagement or other special occasion, we will help keep your purchase a surprise. We can expedite your delivery, or we can ship your order to an address other than your home. Please contact our customer service for any special requests at 1-800-343-4133.

How do I find my ring size?

There are several methods available to determine your ring size (or the ring size of a loved one).

What if I didn't order the correct ring size?

Each customer is entitled to one free ring resizing within 60 days of purchase. After 60 days, the fee is $30 for gold rings or $70 for platinum rings plus the shipping charges.

Please Note: Eternity bands and tension rings cannot be resized and must be completely remanufactured.

Are the diamonds in your website natural or synthetic?

All the diamonds in our website are 100% natural earth mined diamonds, we don’t sell or carry any synthetic or simulated or any lab created diamond.

Any diamond that had color or clarity enhancement process on them is still natural diamond and a third party gemological lab report will prove that.

Can I trade in old jewelry towards the purchase of a new item?

Yes. Simply ship us your item and our diamond expert and master jewelers will provide you with a free quote. Your item need to be a diamond of 1/2ct or larger and must have some documentation of purchase and grading.

Who certifies your diamonds?

Our diamonds are certified by the world’s leading gem grading labs including EGL, UGL, GIA and AGI. 

In addition of being graded by a third party lab, all of our diamonds will accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity. This additional certification will provide you an extra piece-of-mind that you diamond is an authentic Diamond Traces item.

What are clarity enhanced diamonds?

Clarity enhanced diamonds are natural earth mined diamonds that had a clarity enhancement process that made their inclusions less visible to the unaided eye. The clarity enhancement process also gives more fire and brilliance to the diamond, and by that the diamond look even much better than non enhanced diamond.

Do not be confused
Clarity Enhanced Diamonds are 100% natural earth mined diamonds. Some people had mistaken them with Enhanced Diamonds (Synthetic stones that was grown in a lab like Simulants Diamonds).

Certification
All of our clarity enhanced diamonds are certified by the world’s leading gem grading labs including AGI , UGL, or EGL. For added piece-of-mind, in addition of being graded by a third party lab, our clarity enhanced diamonds will accompanied by our Certificate of Authenticity that carry our GIA Graduated Gemologist grading report.

Guarantee
The clarity enhancement process is incredibly durable and with normal wear will last a lifetime. For added peace of mind we provide a Lifetime Treatment Guarantee on our clarity enhancement process. If the enhancement of your diamond fades out, Diamond Traces will re-enhance your diamond at no charge and with no questions asked.

Do the 18kt white gold rings turn yellow over time?

Yes, to some level. Since 18kt white gold is actually 75% pure yellow gold, the jewelry must be rhodium plated. Rhodium plating is standard for all white gold jewelry and gives the item a pure white brilliance and luster. In time, however, the plating tends to wear thin, showing the natural color of the white gold beneath. Vigorous cleaning of the ring (such as with a toothbrush) can accelerate the process. Diamond Traces offers free rhodium plating on all of our white gold jewelry.

Why are your prices so low?

Diamond Traces offers certified diamonds and fine jewelry at prices significantly below traditional retail with the highest quality standards in the industry. We are getting our diamond first hand from Russia, Belgium and Israel. There are no middle men, no retail stores overhead and no salesmen commission fees.

How can I make sure the diamonds I receive are actually the diamonds I ordered?

We ship every loose diamond and diamond engagement ring with an independent lab report. This report can be examined by a qualified gemologist and compared against the unique characteristics of your diamond.

How often do you add diamonds to your inventory?

We add new diamonds to our inventory on a daily basis.

What are conflict-free diamonds?

Conflict-free diamonds are diamonds that were NOT obtained due to human rights abuses, child labor, violence, or environmental degradation.

At Diamond Traces, we make sure every diamond is subject to strict monitoring from the mine all the way to your ring to ensure it comes from areas free of conflict. We have a zero-tolerance policy against conflict diamonds. We manufacture most of our own diamonds, and therefore have first-hand knowledge of their conflict-free origins. We only purchase diamonds from professional members of the diamond trade.

What are the four C's?

The Diamond 4 C's - Carat (size), Color, Clarity and Cut - are the industry grade standard from every independent lab report institute. Every diamond is specifically graded on these features.

What does "eye clean" mean?

"Eye-Clean" is a term used to describe a diamond that is clean to an unaided eye in a face-up position from a distance of 10 inches. Diamonds of VS2 or higher in quality will always be eye-clean. Diamonds of Si1, Si2, SI3 and I1 need to be visually inspected to determine whether any inclusions are visible from the top. We can inspect any diamond at no charge.

Will I be charged sales tax on my order?

Diamond Traces only collects sales tax (8.375%) on orders that are shipped to New York.

Can I pay with two different credit cards?

Yes. If you'd like pay with two different cards, please place your order over the phone with customer service at 1-800-343-4133, Monday to Thursday from 9am to 6pm EST and Friday from 9am to 4pm EST.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), as well as PayPal, Google Checkout, certified checks and money orders, wire transfers, and personal checks.

Wire Transfer
Many customers purchasing items valued over $1,000 prefer paying by wire transfer. Wire transfer orders receive a 1.5% discount from our listed price. Customers paying by wire will receive wiring instructions once they have completed the check-out process. We must receive confirmation from our bank that a wire transfer has been completed before items can be shipped. All orders, or order in excess of $10,000 must be paid via bank wire.

Credit Card
Credit card orders can be placed online using our secure server or over the phone with our customer service department. Credit card orders will only be shipped to an address on file with the credit card company. For security purposes, Diamond Traces may request additional documentation (such as drivers license, photocopy of credit card, etc) on some transactions.

Money Order, Certified Check or Personal Check
When paying by personal check, certified check or money order, Diamond Traces reserves the right to deposit and hold each payment for up to ten business days. All check payments that are not received within one week of when the order was placed will be cancelled. Each personal check and/or certified check must be drawn from a US bank account. Personal checks must also have the customer's name and address imprinted on the front of the check. Customers paying by check will receive mailing instructions once they have completed the check-out process.

Do you accept Western Union as a payment method?

We are very sorry but we don’t accept Western Union since there are many frauds with them. If you don’t have a PayPal account you can pay by a Wire Transfer, PayPal, Google Checkout, Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), Money Order, Certified Check, and Personal Check.

Will I receive a discount if I pay by bank wire?

Yes. Bank wire customers receive a 1.5% discount off their entire order.

Is shopping with Diamond Traces secure?

Yes. We use secure encryption and fraud protection for all credit card transactions. All sensitive data is encrypted using 128-bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL).

What is your return policy?

If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your order, you may return it within the first 30 days of shipment for a full refund or exchange - we even pay for the return shipping within the United States! To return an item, simply follow the Return Procedures listed below:

  1. Contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-343-4133.
  2. Advise the representative that you wish to return your order; you will be given a Return Authorization Code.
  3. Within one business day of your phone call we will email you a pre-paid, fully insured FedEx 2- Day label, along with instructions on how to safely and securely package your items.
  4. Package your order include all original packaging and collateral material. If your item was delivered with a diamond certificate and that certificate is not returned, you may be liable for the $200 replacement cost. For security reasons, do not write Diamond Traces anywhere on the outside of the box.
  5. Take your order and the label to the nearest FedEx location and simply mail it back to us! If you need packaging materials, FedEx will assist you.
  6. Your order should arrive in our office in two business days (excludes weekends and holidays).
  7. All refunds will be processed within two weeks and done in the form of the original purchase method. Bank wires will be refunded via company check.


Improperly packaged items:
Items sent to our office without a RAN number, packages shipped beyond the 30-day return period, and packages that are improperly packaged or uninsured will be refused receipt.

Damaged and Used Items:
Returned merchandise must be undamaged and in "new and unused condition." Items showing obvious signs of wear or alteration by a jeweler other than Diamond Traces will not be accepted.

A 15% restocking fee may be charged on:

  • Eternity bands and tension rings that cannot be resized and must be completely remanufactured.
  • Engraved items that we personally engraved according to a client’s request.


We don’t not refund:

  • Custom designed jewelry (special order) that we altered or personally made according to a client’s designs.
  • Color Enhanced Diamonds custom-made by Color Process upon a client’s request.

What if I want to return my order and I cannot find the certificate or appraisal?

Any item ordered with a diamond grading certificate or appraisal must accompany the returned item. A $200 fee will be charged to replace the certificate.

I purchased an item from you. Do you have a “buy-back” policy?

Yes. If you want to sell your loose diamond, we will buy back for 70% of the original purchase price. The diamond must be in original condition and accompanied by original laboratory grading document.

Please note: Our buyback program only applies to loose diamonds and does not apply to engagement rings or other fine jewelry.

Do you have an upgrade policy?

Do you have an upgrade policy?
Yes. Diamond Traces values your business and offers a lifetime upgrade option to its returning customers. Returning customers who wish to upgrade and purchase another item that costs at least 50% more than their original purchase may return the original purchase item at anytime and Diamond Traces will credit the full purchase price toward the upgraded item. The returned item must be in condition acceptable to Diamond Traces. No restocking fee like most of jewelry companies, you will receive a full credit on your original diamond.

Are you a "drop-shipper"?

No. All of our item are been sent out from our facility and every item is inspected by our quality control department prior to shipment to ensure care and satisfaction. We are not a channel station that sells other vendor merchandize; we carry and sell our own merchandize.

Are your shipments safe?

Yes. Our items are fully insured during transit. All purchases require a signature at the time of delivery.

Can I ship to an address that is different from my billing address?

Yes.

Do you ship to military APO's?

Yes. We will gladly mail your purchase to any military APO using the US Postal Service Registered Mail. Registered mail shipments are fully insured and can take up to three weeks for delivery, so order early!

How long after I order will my item be shipped?

All of our items are shipped FedEx 2nd Day shipping. Loose diamonds will be shipped 1 day after the day of the payment. All other jewelry and engagement rings will be shipped in 2-8 days, depending on the production schedule of that item. Accurate shipping times are located on the detail page for each item.

I'd like to place an international order. How do I pay my customs fees?

When you place an international order, we will ship it to you for free. Once the package arrives in your country FedEx will contact you to collect any taxes or duties. International shipping is done via FedEx International Priority and usually takes about two days.

Can I buy from you if I live outside the United States?

We are proud to ship to more than 40 countries around the globe.

What if I need an item sooner than the date listed on the website?

Rush orders are available. Please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-343-4133 to find out if your order can be expedited.

Will you deliver on Saturdays?

We may be able to arrange for your order to be delivered on Saturday. FedEx Saturday Service covers the majority of US cities. If Saturday Service is unavailable in your area, we can arrange for you to pick up your package at the FedEx World Service Center nearest you.

What if my jewelry gets lost during shipment?

Diamond Traces takes every precaution to ensure that your order arrives safely. Your order is fully insured during transit, and we require a signature for all packages.

What is the cost of shipping?

DiamondTraces.com provides fast, free shipping on all order destinations, regardless of order amount.

International customers will be responsible for any duties, VAT, taxes or surcharges levied or charged by their country, so please check with local authorities prior to placing your order to confirm taxes and duties.

Customers in Canada, customs taxes may vary, depending upon the nature of the item and the Province you are having the item shipped to and can be anywhere between 5% and 12%.Before having an item shipped to Canada, please learn more about the exact taxes and rates you may be subject to pay.

Military personnel located overseas may also have their packages shipped to an APO or FPO location free of charge. Please keep in mind, however, that APO/FPO shipments are done through the US Post Office and can take up to three weeks to arrive.

Yes. At Diamond Traces, we understand how important it is for our customers to see and feel jewelry - especially a piece of jewelry as personal as an engagement ring.
We offer free shipping on all orders, with no minimum purchase. In fact, we're so confident that you'll be impressed by the quality of our jewelry that we offer a money back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with your order, you have 30 days to return your item and receive a full refund.

Do you have gemologists on staff?

Yes. We have G.I.A Graduate Gemologists. These gemologists are an essential part of our customer
service team. If you have any further questions, you can speak with a graduate gemologist at any

Do you care or clean for jewelry sold from your site?

All jewelry purchased from Diamond Traces are eligible for a free cleaning once a year.
You may also return your jewelry to our offices for free prong tightening, re-polishing, rhodium

Do you insure jewelry?

Your item will be fully insured from the minute it leaves our office to the minute it arrived to your door.
As for continuing insurance, we recommend Chubb's or Jewelers Mutual, two highly reputable providers of diamond and jewelry insurance. You can use the personal appraisal that was provided to you with your order to obtain coverage. Diamond Traces does not insure jewelry.
